What is a SATS number?

SATS stands for Student Achievement Tracking System, the Karnataka Department of School Education's student database. Every child who has studied in a Karnataka school has a SATS number, and it stays the same when they change school. Your child's previous school can give it to you. Children joining school for the first time, for example in Nursery or LKG, will not have one yet.

Admission forms

These forms are used during the admission and joining process:

  • Admission health check-up form (medical examination and immunisation record)
  • No Objection Certificate (from the previous school, if applicable)
  • Tailor measurements form (for the school uniform)
  • Transfer Certificate request letter

The admissions office will tell you which forms apply to your child.

Age eligibility

For Nursery, LKG, UKG and Grade 1, a child's age is counted on a fixed cut-off date in the year of admission, under rules set by the Karnataka Government. Please check your child's eligibility with the admissions office before applying; they will confirm the age criteria for the year you are applying for.

Questions about the admission process

Do I need a Transfer Certificate for LKG?

Only if your child is moving from another school. A child joining school for the first time does not have one; the admissions office will confirm what to bring instead.

My child has no SATS number. Can I still apply?

Yes. A SATS number is needed only if your child has already studied in a Karnataka school.

Can I apply for a class in the middle of the year?

Ask the admissions office. Mid-year admission depends on seats available in that class.

What happens after my child is admitted?

The office explains the fee payment and joining arrangements: uniform, books and stationery, and transport.
