Celebrating Skills and Sportsmanship
On July 31, 2024, Dr. SS National Public School Davanagere hosted a vibrant and diverse array of inter-house activities. Students from grades 1 to 5 participated in events like the 50 meters running race, Lemon and Spoon race, Calligraphy, Wealth out of Waste, and Classical Dance competitions. These events showcased the students’ physical abilities, creativity, and cultural appreciation, contributing to their overall development.
50 Meters Running Race
The 50 meters running race for grades 1 and 2 was a thrilling display of speed and enthusiasm. Students from each house competed in a straight sprint to the finish line, demonstrating their agility, determination, and sportsmanship. The event was filled with cheers and encouragement from peers and teachers, making it an exhilarating experience for all participants. The race aimed to enhance the students’ physical fitness, build their confidence, and foster a spirit of healthy competition.
Lemon and Spoon Race
The Lemon and Spoon race for grade 3 added an element of fun and balance to the inter-house activities. Each student balanced a lemon on a spoon while racing to the finish line without dropping the lemon. This event tested their concentration, hand-eye coordination, and balance. The race was both challenging and entertaining, providing a wonderful opportunity for students to enjoy physical activity while honing their motor skills and focus.
Calligraphy Competition
In the Calligraphy competition, students showcased their artistic and penmanship skills. They were tasked with creating beautifully written pieces using different styles of calligraphy. Classical Dance Competition

Wealth Out of Waste Competition
In the Wealth Out of Waste competition, students demonstrated their creativity and environmental awareness by creating useful or decorative items from discarded materials. This competition encouraged students to think innovatively about recycling and sustainability, turning everyday waste into valuable products. It was a fantastic way to promote environmental responsibility and creative problem-solving skills.
